One way of assessing the dynamics of spatial occupation and its negative urban reflexes is by the perception of anthropism in the areas of permanent preservation of water courses. This is the parameter of approach that is intended to demonstrate the reality of the Amazonian municipality of Boa Vista, capital of the state of Roraima. For that, the deductive scientific method was used by means of logical-discursive resources with survey, revision and bibliographical and legal research. The causes, implications in urban everyday life and the consequences of public, environmental and urban planning of these anthropic occupations were scrutinized. Population data from the 2010 Census and the entry into force of the current third Brazilian Forest Code, Law no12.651/2012, were considered. Based on these premises, we sought to analyze the intervention in these fragile localities and the way in which population growth occurred. The exploratory research and the analytical comparison of the main factors involved made possible the realization of several reflections capable of contributing to an open and specialized discussion of the related problems and to serve as an indicative for more advanced solutions that could be implemented to minimize the increase of the environmental liabilities in the APP's ripares.
