摘要
Measurements are reported of the attenuation of an ion beam in a multidipole double-plasma device. In addition to charge-exchange collisions of the beam ions with the gas atoms, ion scattering by the three-dimensional turbulence produced by the beam itself is found to contribute significantly to the beam attenuation.
