MULTISTEP MAGNETIZATION OF UCU5

摘要
Magnetization of UCu5 polycrystal is investigated using a pulsed magnetic field up to 40 T with temperatures ranging from 1.3 to 15 K to obtain the precise magnetization process and magnetic phase diagram. High field measurement reveals a six-step magnetization process below T(N). The origin and spin structures of all of these states are not clear now, but an outline of these transitions may be understood by considering the field induced spin flips in a quadrupole ordered spin system as observed in the DyAg crystal.
