NEW RAW GRINDING PLANT WITH INTEGRAL ROLLER PRESS AT THE HUALIEN-CEMENT-WORKS IN TAIWAN

As part of the installation of a 3rd kiln line at Hualien works of Asia Cement Corporation, Taiwan KHD Humboldt Wedag AG also supplied the equipment for producing raw meal. The raw meal is produced by using semi finish grinding technology. Taking specific raw material conditions into account the largest roller press so far was supplied with dimensions of 1.7 m diameter x 1.3 m and an installed rating of 2 x 1000 kW to achieve a guaranteed raw meal output of 400 t/h. The roller press operates in combination with a single chamber 4.6 m dia. x 7.5 m tube mill, a disagglomerator and a SKS-L high-efficiency classifier. An impact hammer mill is installed upstream of and in tandem with the tube mill, it is used for preliminary size reduction of the raw material mix and for drying it with preheater exhaust gas. The grinding plant was commissioned in May 1992. The roller press can also be operated as a finish mill without the tube mill and with only slight loss of output. The new grinding plant at the Hualien cement works has now run for 2000 operating hours, to the complete satisfaction of the client.
