摘要：

A technical research group, formed jointly by Total-CFP/IFP/SNEA, sees riser technology as the main problem in future offshore drilling in water depths greater than 9,000 feet. Although exploring at these depths is possible, new developments will be required to provide a safe operation. This study outlines the key deficiencies of present riser technology.
