GUIMARAES ROSA DESENREDO MANUEL BANDEIRA - MODERNIST DIALOGUES

This text goes over the intergenerational dialogue set up by Joao Guimaraes Rosa with Manuel Bandeira. The interdiscursive scene necessary to the consolidation of a system of literary production and reception, in Antonio Candido's terms, becomes pointed not only in the co-textual relations found in the corpus analyzed, but especially in the crossing of conventional frontiers between the poetic and the diegetic. Emphasis is also placed on the relevance of orality as a link between those two modes of expression as well as a contributing factor to the inclusion of the subaltern realm acting upon the literate culture and rational logic, whether on the urban or the country scenario. To this end we look at the poem "Tragedia brasileira", by Bandeira and the short story "Desenredo", by Rosa, under the light of Walter Benjamin's theoretical framework.
