The torque signal near T(c) was studied on a (La1-xSr(x))2CuO4 (x = 0.075) single crystal. For fields applied close to the plane direction, the reversible torque signal could be fitted with the anisotropic London theory using an anisotropy ratio gamma-(T) = 10 to 20, (d(1/lambda-2)/dT)Tc almost-equal-to 2.7-mu-m-2 K-1 and (d(eta-H(c2 perpendicular-to)/dT)Tc almost-equal-to 2T K-1. The signal exhibits irreversibility associated with the trapping of flux lines between the superconducting planes. The magnitude of the effect decays exponentially with temperature and field.
