HIGH-PERFORMANCE CUT CORES PREPARED FROM CRYSTALLIZED FE-BASED AMORPHOUS RIBBON

摘要
We tried with success to prepare high performance cut cores from crystallized Fe-based amorphous ribbon, FINEMET. The core loss in FINEMET cores does not increase so remarkably by impregnation with epoxy resin and the impregnated cores show promising soft magnetic properties. Although the core loss in FINEMET cut cores increases strikingly with increasing air-gap length, this increase can be suppressed by attaching thin ferrite plates to cut surfaces of the cores. The core loss in FINEMET cut cores with ferrite plates is comparable to that in Co-based amorphous cut cores in the frequency range of 20k-l00kHz. © 1990 IEEE
