摘要
Light‐induced charge separation, rapid intrarotaxane electron transfer over a short distance, migration of the two rotaxane components relative to each other, and a slow intrarotaxane electron transfer over a longer distance are the steps that enable molecular shuttle motion (see scheme on the right). Ferrocene, bipyridinium, and dialkoxybenzene units play a crucial role in this process. (Figure Presented.) Copyright © 1993 by VCH Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, Germany
