History and Critique on the Ethical Transformation of the Individuals. Michel Foucault, 1926-1984

In recognizing Foucault's contribution to historical research, this analysis combines history and criticism with a comprehension of the functioning of modern and contemporary subjectivity, in order to understand the way the author reveals the matrix of subjectivity which turns us into modern beings. The analysis of his works allows for the understanding of the coherence of his objective when he links the historical work with the thorough understanding of the present, thus locating himself in the line of work established by Kant. This implies understanding problematic relationships such as those that we can establish in his comprehension of the Greco-Roman world, and the search for historical forms of life that allow positioning the subject in front of contemporary events of neoliberal worlds, aimed at making sense of the historical discourse and associating him with the search for the ethical foundation of existence.
