摘要
Research and Development of new or improved energy technologies is accompanied by high risks and requires substantial investments to be paid off only in the long term. Therefore implementation of new or improved energy technologies only takes place slowly. The results of the project "Energy Technologies 2050" held in Germany in 2008 became an information basis for the public energy science policy to set research priorities for non-nuclear energy sources in the coming years. The paper presents a methodology to assess the direction of research in the context of the diversity of political objectives and future scenarios. It also provides the principles of prioritizing technology fields. Finally the results are summarized and recommendations for public research and development for each technology field are provided.
