FUTURE EXPERIMENTS WITH TRULY HEAVY-IONS AT THE AGS AND THE SPS

The future fixed-target experimental program at BNL and at CERN with heavy ions is discussed. Most of the signals assigned to new physics are fairly well covered by the proposed experiments. However, there is little incentive in the proposals to study excitation functions of these signals, which is possible from the accelerator point of view. Also, no connection is foreseen, up to now, to the work on the equation of state of matter done at energies up to 1 A GeV at the Bevalac.
