摘要
Drought is the most important abiotic stress factor limiting production in bread wheat and in arid conditions root development determines the response of the genotypes. In this research, it was investigated that root weight of some bread wheat genotypes under different drought stress condition and the relation between root weight and yield, yield components, and quality characters such as 1000-kernel weight, test weight, protein ratio, gluten and gluten index, hardness and sedimentation. value. This study was carried out in Trakya Agricultural Research Institute during 2 growing seasons with totally 15 bread wheat genotypes in a split block design with 3 replicated. Drought applications and genotypes were main plot and sub-plot, respectively. Drought applications were performed from stem elongation stage to physiological maturating stage. Drought stress treatments have significantly affected the measured traits. Based on the treatment the highest root weight with 3.618 g was weighed in Bereket cultivar, lowest weight with 2.815 g was obtained from Tekirdag cultivar. While lowest root weight a value of 2.815 g was scaled at fully drought condition, highest root weight with 3.496 g was determined from non-stress treatment (KS3). Increasing in root weight was decreased some quality traits such as test weight, sedimentation, and gluten index.
