摘要
The article focuses on the nature of value-oriented understanding of the world by a journalist as one of the main aspects of the most important theoretical questions in media studies in conjunction with a modern humanitarian cognition. In this regard, the author refers to the philosophical theory of values, highlighting the unfading value of the ideals and values of human life and humanity. Identification of the person has a value-oriented character, which determines the value basis of the perception of information in the channels of mass communication. Information sphere in its value expression turns to be the connecting link between the individual and the objective world. Value orientations of the person in the information environment are associated with the eternal questions "What is truth?", " What is good?", "What is beauty?" Journalism does respond these questions. The journalistic cognition of the world is inseparable from the fate of nations and the modern era as a whole; a person is submerged in the aggressive media environment 24 hours. In these circumstances, new approaches to the analysis of the functioning of modern media are in demand. One of such approaches was value-oriented analysis of the media, which got its theoretical justification in the axiology of journalism -a new scientific discipline, born at the intersection of the research fields of philosophical value theory and the theory of journalism. The study of the value nature of understanding of the world in journalism is also connected with the analysis of the intuitive comprehension of the meaning of life by a journalist and the cognitive dissonance in the perception of journalistic texts by the media audience. Conflicts in the fields of politics and culture, which are expressed primarily in the media environment, actualized the axiological analysis of press. As part of the research problem, the author compared axiological and normative approaches to the study of journalism, the value starting point and the dynamics of conflict media discourses and their socio-cultural foundations.
