摘要
An empirical development of a vegetation-reflectance model is described together with its application to the mapping of vegetation cover along the climatological gradient of the Judean Desert, Israel. The model was utilized for deriving a vegetation cover map from a Landsat TM image of the region. A comparison with the existing data indicated that the use of remote sensing methodology allowed significant improvements in vegetation mapping due to the higher level of objectivity and consistency.
