摘要
A new surface covering the inner 16.7-m diameter section of the Parkes radio telescope has allowed observations to be made at millimetre wavelengths. A survey of 83 late-type stars for v = 1, J = 1-0 and v = 2, J = 1-0 emission from SiO at 43 GHz has yielded 10 new sources. There is a strong correlation between stars detected with SiO emission and those known to emit H2 O radiation. Observations of the new SiO sources and of some of the previously known sources have confirmed previous conclusions that source spectra vary with time, some sources having timescales of a few days. © 1977 Royal Astronomical Society.
