摘要
The stereochemical conditions for the enzymatic attachment of carbohydrate chains to amino acid sequences are reviewed. Special attention is paid to N-glycosylation, for which theoretical considerations have identified active conformations for potential glycosylation sites in the polypeptide chain. Critical analysis of these data allowed a number of experimentally based conclusions to be evaluated.
