摘要
A brief overview is presented of the photon and electron-spin dependent effects in photoemission from surfaces. In addition to the well-established techniques of optical spin orientation with circularly polarized light and spin-polarized photoemission from ferromagnets, a third class of experiments is introduced. This phenomenon is termed circular dichroism in photoemission. It occurs in a pure electric dipole transition and does not require spin-orbit nor exchange interaction. Typical examples of all three categories are discussed. © 1990 Pergamon Press plc.
