FATIGUE BEHAVIOR OF NOZZLE CORNER CRACKS

摘要
In the present paper, the fatigue propagation of nozzle corner cracks is experimentally researched through nine pieces of plate-nozzle models and a large pressure vessel (D = 1000 × 4500 mm) with five nozzles. The experimental results show that the fatigue propagation rate of nozzle corner cracks in both plate-nozzle models and the P.V. is well consistent with one of standard specimen and accords excellently with Paris formula when the stress intensity factor of nozzle corner crack by the authors (Hong Qichao and Chai Guozhong, 5th Nat. Symp. in Fracture Mech. China 487-492, May 1988) is used. © 1990.
