COENZYME PQQ IN REDOX REACTIONS PROMOTED BY TRANSITION-METALS

摘要
Redox interaction of trimethyl ester of coenzyme PQQ (PQQTME) with transition metals is reviewed. Redox interconversion of PQQTME is performed using vanadium compounds in two different oxidation states, VCl2 and VO(OEt)(3). An efficient complex catalytic system consisting of PQQTME is developed in the palladium(II)-induced oxidation reactions. PQQTME serves as a coordinating o-quinone ligand, which forms an autocycling redox cycle under oxygen atmosphere. The Mn(III)TPPCl-catalyzed epoxidation of olefins with hydrogen peroxide is effectively enhanced by the mediation of o-quinones such as PQQTME.
