摘要：

The importance of language in the construction of thought can be considered a key element for Francis Bacon (1561-1626) and Carlos Vaz Ferreira (1872-1958). By construction of thought we refer to the significance of language as a necessary tool to sort and classify the reality, and also to enable searching for answers of day-to-day occurrences. In this article we compare these author's ideas of language, the expression of thought and in the analysis of reality. We mainly study the theory of Bacon's idols as described in Novum Organum, and also the concept of fallacy and some of their categories as defined by Carlos Vaz Ferreira in Logica Viva.
