HISTOPATHOLOGY OF THE TESTES OF ZINC-DEFICIENT ALBINO-RATS

摘要：
Zinc deficient doses of 6 ppm and 1 ppm Zn given to the male Sprague Dawley rats for the period of 3 weeks and 6 weeks respectively, resulted in reduced diet consumption and body weight, diarrhoea and lethargy in the experimental animals. Histopathological studies revealed inhibition of spermatogenesis with damaged cell types in all the four sets of experiments, but the extent of damage being greatest in the rats fed on 1 ppm of diet for 6 weeks.
