摘要
The linear magnetostriction is calculated as a function of magnetization for a disordered magnet, the disorder arising from randomly oriented easy axes. The magnetostriction, normalized to its zero-temperature value, is found to have a power-law dependence on the normalized magnetization, λ = σP, with P less than 3, at low temperatures. P is shown to depend only on the deviation of the normalized magnetization and the angular momentum quantum number J. The result calls into question the idea that power laws with P less than three are signs of competing one and two-ion mechanisms for magnetostriction. © 1990.
