摘要
A ring imaging Cherenkov detector, combining a sodium fluoride radiator with a CsI photoconverter evaporated on the pad cathode of a wire chamber, has been built and tested in a particle beam. Systematic measurements of the number of photoelectrons per Cherenkov ring indicate that the quantum efficiency is 60-70% of the one measured in the same detector filled with TMAE. The preliminary results demonstrate the technological feasibility of large area fast RICH detectors.
