摘要
A new type of buffering module is introduced, suitable for incorporation into optical switch fabrics handling ATM cells. It comprises 2 x 2 optical switches and optical delay tines, and is equivalent to two interlinked buffers. Performance is characterised in terms of attenuation, crosstalk and cell loss.
