NATURAL TRIPLOIDY AND B-CHROMOSOMES IN THE NEOTROPICAL FISH GENUS ASTYANAX (CHARACIDAE)

摘要
Two species of the genus Astyanax were studied cytogenetically using standard staining and C banding: 30 specimens of A. eigenmanniorum and 74 specimens of A. scabripinnis. The karyotype of A. eigenmanniorum and the identification of three cases of natural triploidy (a male and a female of A. eigenmanniorum and a female of A. scabripinnis) are presented. Two supernumerary metacentric chromosomes, corresponding in size to the first pair, were also observed in the A. scabripinnis triploid specimen.
