SIMPLE FORMULAS TO COMPUTE MAXIMUM STRESS IN THIN-RIM SPUR GEARS

摘要
Using stress values obtained by the finite element method (FEM), simple formulas are proposed to compute maximum stress around tooth fillet of thin-rim spur gear. They can be used to compute the stress distribution caused by the deformation of the tooth and/or by the deformation of the rim. The results are compared with others already published. The parameters of the formulas are diametral pitch and rim thickness for internal and external gears. The fitting pressure and the presence of a keyseat or spline teeth are also considered for external gears.
