摘要
Two spectrophotometric methods for measuring coniferyl alcohol (CA) oxidation catalysed by peroxidases are compared on the basis of their sensitivity, detection limit and validity for kinetic purposes. Measurement of the absorbance changes in the UV region (260 nm) is much better than evaluation in the visible range (620 nm), since the UV changes monitor the disappearance of CA in reaction media, while the VIS changes measure the appearance of lignin-like products, which may not be kinetically correlated with CA oxidation. In addition, UV measurements are more sensitive and their detection limit is lower.
