THE EUROPEAN RESEARCH-AND-DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM DELTA IN THE FEDERAL-REPUBLIC-OF-GERMANY

In the public education system of the Federal Republic of Germany there is no nationwide but only a scattered application of new learning technologies. Only in professional training and further corporate education are there activities involving an application of information and communiation technology worth mentioning. The participation of German partners in the current phase of DELTA has shown an encouraging increase. In 16 out of 23 projects partners from the Federal Republic of Germany are participating, in four of these projects even in a leading position. The intention of DELTA to give impulses for the use of information and communication technology in learning has apparently lead to concrete results. To explain the importance of DELTA for the Federal Republic of Germany it is useful first to take a look at the various fields of application of new learning technologies in Germany.
