The paper treats the stability of a periodic unidirectional two-dimensional flow of micropolar fluid. An exact value of the critical Reynolds number R(c) is found for a wide class of such flows. As well as for the Newtonian fluid, the secondary flow proves to be a large-scale coherent vortex structure near the stability threshold, R - R(c) << 1.
