摘要：
The merits and demerits of the parabolic approximation for rescribing the properties of quasi 1D electron channels operating in the ballistic regime are discussed. It is noted that the approximation is in a qualitative agreement with the present experiments both in the lack of magnetic field normal to the channel plane and in the presence of the field.
