摘要
Shear stresses have a strong effect on the filtration rate in dynamic filtration. The numerical simulation of fluid flow in a dynamic filter chamber has been investigated. The applied model describing flow of a Newtonian fluid in the laminar regime uses the Navier-Stokes equation form in cylindrical coordinates. Comparisons of the results of frictional torque and shear rate obtained from a simulation with experimental measurements confirmed the validity of the applied model as far as prediction of shear stresses at the filtration surface is concerned.
