摘要
Self-assembly and self-replication may be the secrets that synthetic chemists have to learn from nature to be able to construct molecular electronic devices. This story is a personal account of how one particular conceptual approach to the self-synthesis of unnatural products has blossomed during the past decade from a simple observation in an unexpected corner of supramolecular chemistry.
