摘要
This article describes, through a case study, the process of implementation of Electronic Document Management at an institution of higher education located in the southern state of Minas Gerais. This choice is justified by the need to improve storage and document management teachers of the institution, as those were, stored in physical folders, replication and causing the loss of documents, difficulty of access to the same occupation and large physical space. This study presents, for the first part, a literature review of the concepts of electronic document management, and then, describe the steps of application of EDM in the institution and the results obtained after this process, such as improving the organization documents and easy retrieval of the information contained therein. Thus brings to the fore a new discussion about application of EDM in organizations, this time related to managing documents faculty of an institution of higher education, mainly showing the gain competitive advantage obtained by using this methodology.
