The enthalpies of dilution of aqueous solutions at 25-degrees-C have been determined for the amino acids beta-alanine, alpha-aminobutyric acid, gamma-aminobutyric acid, epsilon-aminocaproic acid, alpha-aminovaleric acid (norvaline) and threonine. The results have been treated using the excess function concept and homotactic interaction coefficients have been obtained. These are briefly discussed in terms of intermolecular interactions between the hydrated solute species.
