摘要
The debate and academic production around the teaching-learning processes in social research methodology in Latin America have become particularly important in the past few years. In countries like Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Mexico, the tendency and importance given to this type of research is increasingly noticeable, problematizing the educational and research contexts, the interpretative schemes and job placement, among other themes. Nevertheless, in the case of Central America, and specifically Guatemala, the study and problematization of the methodology from a sociological perspective continues to be limited. This article makes an approach to the formation and production of knowledge within the career of Sociology in Guatemala, with the objective of analyzing the place assigned to the methodology within the educational entities, the study plans and its processes for institutionalization from a historical perspective.
