摘要：
In this paper we have presented a new model of stress-applied polarization-maintaining single-mode optical fibers to study the cutoff characteristics of such fibers with the refractive index dip. The feasibility of this model has been confirmed compared with the results obtained by the FEM. It has been shown that the central dip has a considerable effect on the cutoff values.
