摘要：

Least squares solution is applied to 10 river basins with 4 to 46 gaging station records for mean annual discharge, width, depth, and mean velocity; number of streams with downstream velocity increase are balanced by equal number of streams with either constant velocity or downstream decrease in velocity; most common relationship on long segments of rivers is nearly constant velocity.
