ISLAM'S MANAGEMENT IN SPAIN: BETWEEN IMMIGRANT ISLAM AND SPANISH ISLAM

This work aims to reveal the sociopolitical aspects of the management of the Islamic religious issue in Spain; the constitutional guarantees that encompass religious liberties in this country, the legal and social framework of Spanish Islam and, finally, the political obstacles to normalizing this field within the Spanish social fabric. In these pages I do not intend to elaborate a road map to solve the issue, but simply to present this problematic question in a scientific way to address the issue within the identity debate of the Spanish state that would finally be the ideal approach to solve the complexity of the Islamic religious field in Spain. Islam as a religion and culture is part of Spanish society for historical, cultural and social reasons. The definitive integration in Spanish national body is an opportunity to reinforce the secular and intercultural character of the Spanish State.
