摘要：
A device is described which is capable of measuring certain paper mechanical properties on a moving web. The properties include the extensional stiffness, S (defined as the elastic modulus times caliper), in both the machine direction and cross machine direction, the anisotropy in the plane of the sheet, S//M//D/S//C//D, and the shear stiffness (shear modulus times caliper). The extensional stiffnesses may be used to estimate tensile strengths.
