摘要
Cathode active materials for lithium secondary batteries have been synthesized by the reaction of MnCO3 with various lithium compounds. The product heated with LiClO3 had a high Mn-valence. The X-ray diffraction pattern of this product showed peaks based on LiMn3O6, and LiMn2O4 was observed in the products heated with other lithium compounds. The theoretical discharge capacity of LiMn3O6 is higher than that of LiMn2O4. It is supposed that the product heated with LiClO3 at 300 approximately 350-degrees-C is suitable for the cathode active material of the lithium secondary battery, and the optimal atomic ratio of Li/Mn was found to be more than 0.6.
