摘要：
The author examines the media's role in social criticism and the role of public opinion in Vietnam using a new approach. He attempts to review the concepts of public opinion so far existing in world scholarly science, which is extremely important for clarifying the relationships between the media and public opinion. Another substantial task is to analyze the interaction between the media, public opinion and power structures in contemporary Vietnam and show the role social criticism plays in this process. This is essential to fully understand the role of the media in different sociopolitical and economic conditions.
