摘要：
An infant of a mother who had lost a previous child with the combined immunity deficiencysyndrome ('Swiss' type of a-y-globulinaemia) was delivered by caesarean section into a sterile surgical isolator and then transferred to a 'germ-free' maintenance isolator where she remained for 7 days. The nursing and medical care of the infant in the 'germ-free' state is described.
