摘要
Throughout history, stigma has accompanied epilepsy. It affects people of all races and social classes and limits the human development of the affected persons. Stigma has strong anthropological and psychological explanations that can be modified in order to enhance the quality of life of epileptic persons. The World Health Organization, the International League Against Epilepsy and the International Bureau of Epilepsy launched the Global Campaign "Epilepsy out of the shadows" that, among other purposes, intends to reduce or eliminate stigma.
