In a field experiment for two rabi seasons (1986-87 and 19 -89) at t e Regional Agricultural Research Station, Bilaspur (M.P.), Sub-station, KAPAN, line sowing gave significantly more grain and straw yields than broadcast sowing. Increasing seed rate to late sown chickpea from 75 to 100 kg/ha significantly increased the yields, but further increase (125 kg/ha) did not prove beneficial. Application of 18 kg N + 46 kg P2O5/ha gave significantly higher yield over no fertilizer and 9 kg N + 23 kg P2O5/ha.
