摘要
This article studies the components of learning and performance orientation (LO and PO) and its bearing on academic performance (AP). Responses from 347 prospective management students were collected by a closed ended structured survey questionnaire. Four variables were identified by exploratory factor analysis using SPSS from the construct of LO and PO. The interplay between these four variables with AP was analysed using AMOS 16 for structured equation modelling. The variable components representing LO were conceptual knowledge seeking (CKS) and knowledge internalisation (KI). The variable components of PO were reward seeking (RS) and outcome focused learning (OFL). There is significant positive relationship between CKS and KI. There is significant positive relationship between RS and OFL. There is significant positive relationship between KI and AP while there is significant negative relationship between OFL and AP. Thus, a model involving CKS, KI, RS, OFL and AP was developed.
