ORIGIN OF THE SKEW OF SOME LOW-TEMPERATURE DIELECTRIC RELAXATIONS

摘要
The 4.2 K dielectric loss curves of several secondary amines and phenols in several polyolefin matrices are compared. All are skewed in the Cole-Davidson sense but the phenol curves are distinctly more skewed than the others. This is attributed to the existence of alternative relaxation paths corresponding to internal rotation by ± 180°, and supports the notion that broadening and skewing of the relaxation curves arises, partly at least, from a distribution of molecular parameters. © 1990.
