摘要
Japan has many microwave stations on mountain tops. In general, an access road is constructed from the site to the nearest public road. Road construction has great influence on the natural environment. It is becoming more and more difficult to obtain official permission to construct new roads due to rigorous environmental preservation laws. NTT has determined on using the monorail as an alternative transportation method to the access road. This system disturbs the natural environment the least, and can be used for maintenance personnel as well as for carrying freight. It is easy to operate and is safe. Presently, NTT has made a trial model and has checked many trial runs.
