The breeding value of wool clip was estimated in a sheep flock observed in the years 1988 - 1990. A total of 920 individuals were evaluated, 510 of them with defined efficiency. Fixed effects were included in computations, that means genotype, age and production year. Estimates were made separately for the first, second and yearly clip. The computation had two options: I = without efficiency simulation and II = simulation of missing efficiency in animals discarded during the breeding year. The differences in breeding value between the genotypes were small, within 10 % of the recorded values. The sheep age influenced wool clip. The determined statistical values and the determined rank of animals document that the estimated breeding values are more adequate if the missing data on efficiency are simulated on the basis of the population means achieved in the given season. The coefficient of variation in breeding values is 8.22 % and 7.12 % for the first clip, 7.38 % and 4.74 % for the second clip and 7.89 % and 4.85 % for the yearly clip while the respective values apply to the first and second data option.
