Crime Prevention: A New Doctoral Field of Study at the University of Cincinnati

Crime prevention is a new doctoral field at the University of Cincinnati's Division of Criminal Justice. The main focus of the crime prevention field is to critically introduce students to the theories of reducing the opportunity for different types of crime to occur. Crime prevention theory, victimology, white-collar crime theory, and applied crime prevention comprise the four core courses in this field. Students also have many opportunities to work with the crime prevention faculty (and other faculty, too) on projects that apply and test what they learn in their courses.
